Recipe: Rum Runner

The Rum Runner is the featured cocktail of Episode 48: The Grassy Man of the Knoll.

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz. Pineapple Juice 
  • 1 oz. Orange Juice 
  • 1 oz. Blackberry Liqueur 
  • 1 oz. Banana Liqueur 
  • 1 oz. Light Rum 
  • 1 oz. Dark or Aged Rum 
  • Splash of Grenadine  
  • Garnish (optional): Orange slice and a float of 151 

Directions:

Add all ingredients to a shaker with ice and shake for 12-18 seconds, or until shaker is good and frosty.  

Strain into a chilled glass over ice. You can use any glass you want, but make sure it is at least 10 oz.

Recipe: Blue Hawaiian

The Blue Hawaiian (aka the Swimming Pool) is the featured cocktail of Episode 34: Some f’ckn idiot named Wigglesworth. It is a glorified PiƱa colada with blue curacao added and it’s delish.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 oz Light rum
  • 3/4 oz Blue curacao
  • 2 oz Pineapple juice
  • 3/4 oz Creme de coconut
  • 1/2 oz Fresh lemon juice

Garnish: Pineapple wedge

Garnish: Cherry or whatever the f’k you want.

Garnish: Cocktail umbrella

Steps:

  1. Add all ingredients into a shaker with ice and shake until well-chilled.
  2. Strain into a Hurricane glass over pebble ice.
  3. Garnish with a pineapple wedge, cherry, and cocktail umbrella. into glass.

Champagne or prosecco can be added to make a sparkling Blue Hawaiian.

Recipe: Bali Pimm’s

Recipe: Bali Pimm’s

The Bali Pimm’s cocktail is featured in Episode 22. I got the blueprint for this drink from an article about the best cocktails in Bali, Indonesia. This particular drink was invented and is served at the Potato Head Beach Club. The listing did not include the recipe, just the main ingredients. This is what I came up with and it was pretty heckin delicious.

Glass from Godinger. Straw from Surfside Sips.

Ingredients:
1 oz. Pimm’s No 1
1 oz. Lemongrass Infused Gin
2 oz. Ginger Beer
2 oz. Pineapple Tepache
1 oz. Fresh Passion fruit, strained
1/4-1/2 oz. Simple Syrup (optional)
Tropical fruit and flowers to garnish

Directions:
1. Combine Pimm’s, gin, passion fruit, and tepache (unless yours is very bubbly, then add when you add the ginger beer)
2. Shake with ice 8-10 seconds. Strain into Hurricane or Collin’s glass filled with crushed ice.
3. Top with ginger beer and garnish.
