Our latest episode is Volume 1 of our Scandals series. We covered two fast-food giants and the food scandals that plagued them. Melissa, Kate and Aimee cover McDonald’s hot coffee lawsuit, the sweet little old lady at the center of it, and the problems relying on a mega-corporation to do the right thing. We also dig into the infamous “finger chili” from Wendy’s history. We all saw photos we wish we hadn’t! Listen to hear the true story behind these scandals, and the story of Virginia Dare–the namesake of this episode’s beverage.
We featured this cocktail on Episode 03: Graham Crackers & Curbing Sex.
1 ounce Cognac
1 ounce light rum

Garnish: lemon twist
Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice.
Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
Garnish with the lemon twist.
Listen to Episode 06 to learn about the history of the Graham Cracker, and then do something that would have Sylvester Graham turning in his grave.
1/2 tablespoon butter to coat the bottom of the dish
Enough milk chocolate chips to do a nice layer of chocolate on the bottom of whatever baking dish you prefer (I prefer an oven-safe skillet, but you do you)
either half jumbo marshmallows or use mini ones
Graham cracker squares
- Preheat oven to 450°F. Preheat the oven with the skillet or baking dish inside.
- Pull the warmed baking dish from the oven and put the butter in there–let it melt and spread it around.
- Once fully coated, layer in chocolate
- Then marshmallow
- Bake 5-7 minutes
- Remove and use graham crackers to dip in delicious chocolate/marshmallow goo.
On this episode, Melissa, Kate, and Aimee explore the life and times of Sylvester Graham, inventor of the graham cracker.
